If You Forget Me

"I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.

Well, now,
if little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you little by little.

"If suddenly
you forget me
do not look for me,
for I shall already have forgotten you.

If you think it long and life
and you decide
to leave me at the shore
of the heart where I have roots,
remember
that on that day,
at that hour,
I shall lift my arms
and my roots will set off
to seek another land.

But
if each day,
each hour,
you feel that you are destined for me
with implacable sweetness,
if each day a flower
climbs up to your lips to seek me,
ah my love, ah my own,
in me all that fire is repeated,
in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
my love feeds on your love, beloved,
and as long as you live it will be in your arms
without leaving mine. "

Health

"To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one's family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one's own mind. If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him."

Poetry

"Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion; it is not the expression of personality, but an escape from personality. But, of course, only those who have personality and emotions know what it means to want to escape from these things."

Friendship

"A friendship can weather most things and thrive in thin soil; but it needs a little mulch of letters and phone calls and small, silly presents every so often - just to save it from drying out completely".

Not stranger

"Even if you are stranger
Then prove as good manager
Capture their heart sans anger
Show love as your prime hunger

Silence is surrender
Mix with people at large and offer
You will be loved and called master
Real friend in time at the time of disaster

Love is not the only key
It is message from almighty
Shower it in plenty without feeling pity
Capture heart with it is called divine beauty

It is not fault with world
We are only blowing cold
Trying for all excuses to remain aloof
And then searching for the unnecessary proof

God has sent you alone
Not to live in isolation and feel lone
This may make you feel dejected and torn
Worthless to have come on earth and born

Someone advised me that the case is not so
The world is same and you must forgo
Life can be still made divine
As desert looms large after famine

Oh, some one told me still further
World is large and need not bother
”love is in abundance” I said and roared in laughter
This is not the reason we are seeking after  ".

Light of Love

"Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable"

Light of Life

"I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live by the light that I have. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong"

War and Peace

"Angels must be confused by war.
Both sides praying for protection,
yet someone always gets hurt.
Someone dies.
Someone cries so deep
they lose their watery state.

Angels must be confused by war.
Who can they help?
Who can they clarify?
Whose mercy do they cast to the merciless?
No modest scream can be heard.
No stainless pain can be felt.
All is clear to angels
except in war.

When I awoke to this truth,
it was from a dream I had last night.
I saw two angels conversing in a field
of children's spirits rising like silver smoke.
The angels were fighting among themselves
about which side was right,
and which was wrong.
Who started the conflict?

Suddenly, the angels stilled themselves
like a stalled pendulum,
and they shed their compassion
to the rising smoke
of souls who bore the watermark of war.
They turned to me with those eyes
from God's library,
and all the pieces fallen
were raised in unison,
intertwined like the breath
of flames in a holy furnace.

Nothing in war comes to destruction,
but the illusion of separateness.
I heard this spoken so clearly I could only
write it down like a forged signature.
I remember the compassion,
mountainous, proportioned for the universe.
I think a tiny fleck still sticks to me,
like gossamer threads
from a spider's web.

And now, when I think of war,
I flick these threads to all the universe,
hoping they stick on others as they did me.
Knitting angels and animals
to the filamental grace of compassion.
The reticulum of our skyward home."

Mystery

In the deepest depths of you and me
In the deepest depths of we
Lies the most beautiful jewel
Shining forth eternally
Within that precious jewel
Within that priceless piece of we
Lies a time beyond all time
Lies a place beyond all space
Within that sacred source of radiance
Lies a love beyond all love
Waiting
            Waiting
                    Waiting
Ever so patiently
Waiting for you, waiting for me
Waiting patiently for all to see
The beauty that is you inside of me
The beauty that is me inside of thee
In the deepest depths of you and me
In the deepest depths of we
Lies the love and wisdom
Of all Eternity"

Holding the Cloud

"Mother, the folk who live up in the clouds call out to me-
"We play from the time we wake till the day ends.
We play with the golden dawn, we play with the silver moon."
I ask, "But how am I to get up to you ?"
They answer, "Come to the edge of the earth, lift up your
hands to the sky, and you will be taken up into the clouds."
"My mother is waiting for me at home, "I say, "How can I leave
her and come?"
Then they smile and float away.
But I know a nicer game than that, mother.
I shall be the cloud and you the moon.
I shall cover you with both my hands, and our house-top will
be the blue sky.
The folk who live in the waves call out to me-
"We sing from morning till night; on and on we travel and know
not where we pass."
I ask, "But how am I to join you?"
They tell me, "Come to the edge of the shore and stand with
your eyes tight shut, and you will be carried out upon the waves."
I say, "My mother always wants me at home in the everything-
how can I leave her and go?"
They smile, dance and pass by.
But I know a better game than that.
I will be the waves and you will be a strange shore.
I shall roll on and on and on, and break upon your lap with
laughter.
And no one in the world will know where we both are. "

Accomplishment of work at ease

"When you rush to do something, you may attain success or you may not attain success; but no matter what, it is going to affect the state of your mind. However, if, before you go to do anything, you create a pause for a few seconds, if you just meditate for a few seconds, just become silent and do nothing, in one word COLLECT YOURSELF, connecting yourself to that Higher Intelligence, Higher Force, Higher Power, Higher Energy, then when you move you will move with more clarity in your mind and deeper conviction about the task ahead and its successful completion. It is all just the state of mind that you create for yourself. You need to do it between your tasks. Creating a pause. That will change your life for ever!

No matter whether success comes or failure comes, if you, at some point, offer it to that Divine Intelligence in prayer, you will find that the Divine Intelligence definitely does Its job! If it is true that what you did was not a success that means something better is waiting for you. Your conditioned mind may have thought it was doing something good for you, but the Unconditioned Universal Mind may have a different thought!

By pausing and surrendering all outcomes to the Universal Mind, claiming credit only for your effort, you will not be so deeply hurt, so deeply distressed, so deeply frustrated. The pause will create that particular connection between you the individual, (conditioned mind), and the Universal, Unconditioned Mind. As a result your movement will not be like stumbling from one act to the other, your movement will be very smooth, like a classical dancer. And that graceful movement is the Flow of Life! As you learn to pause, you will grow to trust that the Divine Intelligence knows what is ultimately best for you, and you will be happy and at peace."

Today's Dreams Are Tomorrow's Successes

" Let nothing hold you back from
exploring your wildest fantasies,
wishes, and aspirations.
Don't be afraid to dream big
and to follow your dreams
wherever they may lead you.
Open your eyes to their beauty;
open your mind to their magic;
open your heart to their possibilities.

Dare to dream.
Whether they are in color
or in black and white,
whether they are big or small,
easily attainable or almost impossible,
look to your dreams,
and make them become reality.
Wishes and hopes are nothing
until you take the first step
towards making them something!

Dare to dream,
Because only by dreaming,
will you ever discover
who you are, what you want,
and what you can do.
Don't be afraid to take risks,
to become involved,
to make commitment.
Do whatever it takes to make
your dreams come true.
Always believe in miracles,
and always believe in you!"

Friends

" A forever friend is always there
To smooth the times when things seem rough
To lend a hand when life gets tough
To be the sun during times of rain
To give the comfort that eases lifes pain
To share a joke, and share the smile
Or just to sit in silence awhile
Share an idea, discuss a thought
Help to search for all you've sought
Such a bond will never break
It gives back what life can take
It's what we have, and it'll never end
You make me proud to be...........
your forever friend."

Moon

" Moon, you have a shade of blue tonight –
Is it something that you saw or heard?
Only yesterday, your tone was proud and bright,
Yellow silver, full, and so assured.

Moon, despite the clarity of sky,
Metaphors of cloud that fluff with grey
Drift across your rounded face to spy;
Feeding back, there's awfully much to say.

Moon, you have a role to play up there –
We below must bear the earthly pain.
Duty bound, we shoulder sorrows fair –
You are free from our grotesque disdain.

Moon, we depend on you to shine
When the sun retires down below.
Add to that your grandest role divine:
Tidal Lord, to keep the seas in tow!

Moon, I hope you take to heart our plea –
Needless is the reason for your blue.
Beaming, you should give the night its glee:
We're despairing – so we look to you."

Night

"Night, the time to rest
Night to party is the best
Night, the time family sits together
Night if special one remembers forever
Night, is to dream
Night, when beautiful looks the stream
Night is to talk
It is the time the subconscious rocks

Night, when silent is the sea
Night, when also sleeping are the trees
Night, when high is the crime
Still Night is the only of its kind.."

Imagination

First comes thought; then organization of that thought, into ideas and plans; then transformation of those plans into reality. The beginning, as you will observe, is in your imagination

Possibilities

“We all have possibilities we don't know about. We can do things we don't even dream we can do. We all have possibilities we don't know about. We can do things we don't even dream we can do. We all have possibilities we don't know about. We can do things we don't even dream we can do.”

Meditation

Meditation is a special kind of concentration. In ordinary concentration, the mind is focused on one particular subject, and there can be many divergent thoughts related to that particular subject. Here the subject is one, but thoughts are many and dissimilar. By the world ‘meditation’ we mean dhyana or contemplation. It is a special type of concentration. In the first place, meditation is a fully conscious process, an exercise of the will. Secondly, meditation means concentration on a spiritual idea which presupposes that the aspirant is capable of rising above worldly ideas. And finally, meditation is done usually at a particular center of consciousness. It is clear that true meditation is a fairly advanced state, attained after long practice.

Energy

Should you find yourself in a chronically leaking boat, energy devoted to changing vessels is likely to be more productive than energy devoted to patching leaks.

Spiritual Life

I look at an artist as one who lives and works in total freedom, beyond time and tradition, guided only by his intuitive intelligence. The intuitive spontaneity of life-energy is the womb of all the aesthetic arts as well as classical virtues in man. For both aesthetic arts and human virtues, it is necessary to have freedom from thought, along with abundant sensitivity. This is the foundation of spiritual life. Art, intuition and spirit mingle together very well. At their peak, they are all, like Nature, cosmic and divine.

Love

Peace is the highest and most strenuous act of the soul, but an entirely harmonious act, in which all our powers and affections are blending in a beautiful proportion, and sustain and perfect one another. It is more than the silence after storms. It is as the concord of all melodious sounds ... an alliance of love with all beings, a sympathy with all that is pure and happy, a surrender of every separate will and interest, a participation of the spirit and life of the universe.... This is peace, and the true happiness of humanity.

Match

Every person is so different and I don't think there is an exact match for every person. If you meet someone and they have 20 of the 25 things you want in a person, then you're pretty lucky.

Colour

The colour of the skin is in no way connected with strength of the mind or intellectual powers.

Friendship

"May there always be work for your hands to do, may your purse always hold a coin or two. May the sun always shine on your windowpane, may a rainbow be certain to follow each rain. May the hand of a friend always be near you, may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you."

Universal Law

Always wait for something good and it happens, because whatsoever happens, we create. In fact we create it; we sow the seeds. But we sow the seeds unconsciously, that's why we think that some accident has happened. Accidents never happen, nothing is ever accidental. It is a cosmos, it is not a chaos. Everything is absolutely based on a fundamental ultimate law: nothing ever goes wrong. Yes, sometimes it looks to us as if it has gone wrong, because we were expecting something else. That’s a problem --we do one thing, we sow one seed and we expect something else.

Life

Life consists not in holding good cards but in playing those you hold well.

Quietness

Farewell

"Why can't we get all the people together in the world that we really like and then just stay together?

I guess that wouldn't work.  Someone would leave.

Someone always leaves.

Then we would have to say good-bye.

I hate good-byes.

I know what I need.

I need more hellos."

Dream

Joy

Birds sing after a storm; why shouldn't people feel as free to delight in whatever remains to them?

Life

“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.”

Togetherness

"See you and me have a better time than most can dream of, better than the best, so we can pull on through, whatever tears at us, whatever holds us down, and if nothing can be done, we'll make the best of what's around."

Farewell

"Don't be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is before you can meet again. And meeting again after a moment or a lifetime is certain for those who are friends."

Beauty

"I've never seen a smiling face that was not beautiful"

Mother

"A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts"

Dream

"Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before."

Another door opens

When one door closes another door opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us.”

Tomorrow is a new day

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”

Rekindle

"Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler."
Albert Einstein

”Sometimes our light goes out but is blown into flame by another human being. Each of us owes deepest thanks to those who have rekindled this light.”
Albert Schweitzer

”The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of
comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and
controversy.”
Martin Luther King Jr.

”Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant.”
Robert Louis Stevenson

”Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”
Mahatma Gandhi

Be A Child Again

I am hereby officially tendering my resignation as an adult.
I have decided I would like to accept the responsibilities of an 8-year-old again.
I want to go to McDonald's and think that it's a four star restaurant.
I want to sail sticks across a fresh mud puddle and make ripples with rocks.
I want to think M&Ms are better than money because you can eat them.
I want to lie under a big oak tree and run a lemonade stand with my friends on a hot summer day.
I want to return to a time when life was simple.
When all you knew were colors, multiplication tables, and nursery rhymes, but that didn't bother you, because you didn't know what you didn't know and you didn't care.

All you knew was to be happy because you were blissfully unaware of all the things that should make you worried or upset.
I want to think the world is fair. That everyone is honest and good.
I want to believe that anything is possible.
I want to be oblivious to the complexities of life and be overly excited by the little things again.
I want to live simple again.
I don't want my day to consist of computer crashes, mountains of paperwork, depressing news, how to survive more days in the month than there is money in the bank, doctor bills, gossip, illness, and loss of loved ones.

I want to believe in the power of smiles, hugs, a kind word, truth, justice, peace, dreams, the imagination, mankind, and making angels in the snow.
So...here's my checkbook and my car keys, my credit cards and all my responsibility.
I am officially resigning from adulthood. And if you want to discuss this further, you'll have to catch me first, 'cause,
"Tag! You're it."

Parenting

If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I'd finger paint more, and point the finger less.
I would do less correcting and more connecting.
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less and know to care more.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars,
I'd do more hugging and less tugging.
I'd see the oak tree in the acorn more often,
I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.
I'd model less about the love of power,
And more about the power of love

It Couldn't Be Done

Somebody said that it couldn't be done,
But he with a chuckle replied
That "maybe it couldn't," but he would be one
Who wouldn't say so till he'd tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn't be done, and he did it.

Somebody scoffed: "Oh, you'll never do that;
At least no one ever has done it";
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat,
And the first thing we knew he'd begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,
Without any doubting or quiddit,
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn't be done, and he did it.

There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure;
There are thousands to point out to you, one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle in with a bit of a grin,
Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start to sing as you tackle the thing
That "cannot be done," and you'll do it.

Just One

One song can spark a moment,
One flower can wake the dream
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.

One smile begins a friendship,
One handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal

One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights a room
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.

One step must start each journey.
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.

One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what's true,

One life can make a difference,
You see, it's up to you!

Words of Encouragement

Challenges and difficulties are a part of life and words of encouragement can often help you get out of your rut. It's easy to tell someone to hang in there and to keep a positive outlook when they are going through tough times but when it happens to you, keeping your chin up isn't always the easiest thing to do. Even so, it's not impossible. There are a lot of things you can do to help you stand back up and move forward. Whether you've been dealt with a setback while working towards your goal, lost a loved one, or just feel down, inspirational words of encouragement can help.

Words can have a powerful impact on your mindset. Although we've all heard the saying, "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me", the fact is that words really do have an impact on how we feel. Often times, when things seem pointless, when you've just come face to face with yet another failure, it can seem as though it's the end. It can seem as though no matter how hard you try, the life that you want will always be just out of reach.

During these times, some positive words of encouragement can help you shift your focus. When it comes down to it, how you feel is really just about what you focus on. What words of inspiration and encouragement will do for you is help you put things into perspective.

Who doesn't go through failures, setbacks, and challenges? We all do. In fact, after you get through this challenging time, you will have more to come in the future. Although that sounds pessimistic, it's also reality. Those who succeed in life and get what they want as well as those who are the most happiest aren't people who never face difficulties. If anything, they probably deal with more challenges than most people. The thing that makes them different is how they respond and react to those obstacles.
